Going to overtime for the first time since Thanksgiving weekend. Tomas Klempa tied the game with 5:58 remaining in the third period. In the final two minutes of regulation, MSU had to kill off a 5x3 penalty with Ben Youds and Geoff Irwin in the box. After killing that, Zach Harrison got stopped on a short-handed breakaway.

Minnesota State took a 2-1 lead at the 15:50 mark of the second period when Geoff Irwin scored a power-play goal from Mick Berge. Irwin has been on a hot streak and increased his point-scoring streak to six games.

It's 1-1 after the first period. Omaha got on the board first when Rich Purslow scored on a mini-breakaway at 13:30. MSU tied the game with 75 seconds remaining in the period when freshman Adam Mueller scored a power-play goal. Zach Harrison and Blake Friesen assisted.
