Not that polls matter a whole heck of a lot (and I say that as a voter), but it was somewhat perplexing to see North Dakota move up a spot in both national polls and MSU stay pat on one and move down on another. So it goes. Here's a look at this week's rankings:

Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like we need to win this weekend's series and move on to the Final 5 for us to keep a ranking high enough to make the NCAA's. That makes this weekends series the biggest series of the year. Now we just need to sell out the building and create a similar atmosphere to last Saturday. Worst case senerio is we finish in the Pairwise at 14, 15 or 16 and get bounced out because of upsets in other conference tournaments. Let's get to the X to secure our spot in the national tournament.
I see UNO is toward the bottom of the TUCs. Could an MSU sweep this weekend potentially cause a negative effect in the PWR if UNO moves below the TUC line? What if both UNO and CC get swept this weekend? Of course I want them to win in any case, the farther they get in the tournament, the better, just not sure how all of the math works out.

According to the SiouxSports RPI predictor, if UNO loses both games, and every other game goes as expected, UNO's RPI would drop to .4999. So that seems like it could either way, based on how some of the other teams UNO has played fare.
Of course, two more wins by MSU means it probably doesn't matter much where UNO ends up. I think Hagar has it about right that if they win the series, they'll play in the national tournament. If they lose the series, they're not necessarily done for the year, but it makes for a very uncomfortable last weekend of the season, hoping some things fall their way in order to get in.
