I know I'm a little late getting a new poll up. After some thought, I've decided to put up three. Check for them later today. Here's the deal: The Mavericks are closing out their 10th season in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Who have been their best players in that span? Let's find out with a PucKato all-decade team. There will be polls for forwards (pick three), defensemen (pick two) and goaltenders (pick one) up today. Am I missing anyone obvious? If you want to vote other, please go back to this thread and comment on who you would add. Should be fun.

Maybe not a super obvious one, but I'd definitely consider adding R.J. Linder to the defense list.
I tried to limit the ballots to 15 forwards, 10 D and five goalies. R.J. was definitely under consideration, and I think you're seeing this year just how valuable he ended up being last year. I felt the same way about Bourne and Runkel, who were so key to that 02-03 season and thought they should be on the list, too.
It's shocking the lack of top-end quality the Mavericks have had along the blue line over the last decade. Backes, Stevenson, Joseph, Abel, Carter, Kalinski and Berge are all rock solid forwards. Zacharias has been a pretty good goaltender. But I see not a single top level defender in that bunch.
That's not to say they haven't had quality individuals. Linder and Brownlee are as good as teammates as a team can ask for.
Backes, Joseph and Stevenson up front. Wagner and Davis are the rearguards and Eric Pateman in net. It's easy to forget how good he was before hurting his shoulder and his back.
I wanted to vote for BJ Abel so we could all say...B J ABEL!!!!!
BJ Abel doesn't get a lot of respect apparently, this guy was the leadership of the 0203 team. Crossjcek, I am with you and miss hearing that announced.
