WCHA suspends Alaska player for hit on Michaelis

Th WCHA office on Sunday announced a one-game suspension for Alaska senior forward Kylar Hope for his hit from behind on Minnesota State's Marc Michaelis on Saturday.

Hope received a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct infraction for checking from behind in the final minute of the first period. "Upon review, the hit was delivered in a manner that warranted the suspension," the WCHA's press release said.

Alaska’s next scheduled game is Friday at home against Lake Superior State. Hope will be eligible to return for Saturday's game against the Lakers.
