You Want Answers?!?!
The Mavericks will open up WCHA play this week with a series at Minnesota Duluth and are coming off a season-opening sweep of Bowling Green. After one week of play, you must have some questions that PucKato can attempt to answer. Add them to the comments section on this post, and I'll get to them on Thursday afternoon.

1) Is the team concerned with their inability to finish an array of chances this past weekend?
2) What do you feel was the reason for such a poor showing in fan attendance this past weekend?
3) Any chance Pitlick will be shifted to a forward spot on the powerplay this weekend?
1) Are we going to see Eli Zuck this weekend in Duluth?
2) Do you think that Joe Schiller on defense is going to become a staple?

The question I have wanted answered for a couple of years now is why is there such a lack of promotion and information from MSU? We're into the 2nd week of the season and the roster doesn't have any updated information, the website doesn't do much to tell about hockey or support people buying season tickets. Then also, there seems to be a real lack of fan buy in...like video clips (as you see when you go to CC, UND, SCSU), jersey auctions each game (like at MTU)....I could go on and on. Go to any opposing arena and it appears that they have way more things as a fan "buy in" and to encourage support for the team.
It's my understanding that hockey is one of the only (if not the only) sport that really brings in money for MSU. Pretty sad that they can't even keep up with the WCHA schools in promoting the team. Very sad that little Michigan Tech, being a basement dweller, does a much better job in this area. Why is that?!?
Ok, how strange is it that I wrote my question and a new Maverick website appeared within hours?!? Looks much better...now if the school could just work on the other things!

What's up with Dorr?
After seeing the Mavs add another forward to one of their recruiting classes, I thought of another question. Why do the Mavs seem to focus so much more on recruiting forwards than defesemen? The team seems to be solid at forward every season, but the D is always iffy at best.
