Another Olympian

A third athlete with ties to MSU hockey will be playing in the Winter Olympics next month. On Thursday, Minnesota State announced that women's hockey player Nina Tikkinen (right) was named to the Finnish team. She will join teammate Emilia Andersson, who will be playing for Sweden and Mavericks alum David Backes, who will play for the U.S. men's hockey team.

Tikkinen is a junior forward who has 35 points in 71 games for the Mavericks, including six points in 15 games this season.
