Minnesota State freshman goaltender
Phil Cook was named WCHA rookie of the week on Tuesday after his performance in the Mavericks' sweep of RIT last weekend. Cook stopped 50 of 51 shots for the weekend and earned MSU's first shutout in two seasons on Saturday.
Other WCHA awards went to Denver's Rhett Rakhshani and Wisconsin's Michael Davies (offensive) and Denver's Patrick Wiercioch (defensive).

I was thinking Lee would be the man this year but thus far Cookie Monster has started to impress me. We all thought he was going to be the bench warmer after the exhibition against Lethbridge... boy was I an idiot for basing my opinion on one period of puck.
Three young/capable goaltenders - it's a fun time to be a Mavs fan!
