Mavericks get another commitment

Shattuck-St. Mary's forward J.P. LaFontaine has committed to play at Minnesota State, according to various online reports. LaFontaine is the nephew of former NHL great Pat Lafontaine and son of Shattuck bantam coach John LaFontaine.

J.P. is a 5-foot-9, 170-pound senior who is tied for third place on Shattuck's scoring list with 19 goals and 23 assists for 42 points. It appears that he's expected to play on year of junior hockey before joining the Mavericks in 2011.

If Mike Sullivan doesn't use that at least once over this kid's career, I will be deeply disappointed.

Come on guy's. Nearly two weeks without games and this is the best you can talk about...

How about something we can get our teeth into like, finishing this season strong.

Who are the leaders that will rise to the top rest of this season?

Some real hockey talk, AY!

Yeah. We have Tech and Anchorage coming up... games that, ON PAPER, we can get some points out of.

Wisconsin, Denver, and Cloud will be tough but there's no reason we can't get a couple points from those series.

We're a lot better team than our record indicates and I think that will show down the final five series.

Now, someone say something we all didn't already know, haha.
